Who We Are
My name is Jeremy Shaw and I started Utah Backcountry Moto Adventures to combine a few of the things I love to do most. Motorcycles, the outdoors, and meeting new people from different walks of life.
I have spent my entire life in the outdoors. From the time I was a young child my father instilled a love of all things nature into me. As a young adult I was a ski patrolman and was educated as a Wilderness First Responder. I spent many weekends helping skiers on the slopes. In college I took every Natural resource class I could, and spent as much time outdoors as possible.
This translated into my adult life and I spent 25 years as a Utah State Park Ranger. It was here that I discovered how much I truly love meeting new people, and introducing them to something new and exciting. One of my favorite things as a Park Ranger was to walk the campground and talk to the people staying there. I met people from all over the world and we got to talk about their trip, and where they were headed next. Sometimes I even got to throw in a few suggestions along the way. As part of my duties I would teach classes about fire starting, wilderness survival or anything else we thought would be useful. I love to see the look in someone’s eyes when they first experience something new and exciting.
I have taken this batch of experiences and education and created a tour of Utah that is second to none. Come with me as we see everything Utah has to offer over the course of 4 days and 3 nights. We will see the pine forests of the Wasatch Mountains. We will sleep by the lake and play in the river. Mule deer, Moose and Elk are frequently seen. We will also traverse the San Rafael Swell, this is like no other place on Earth. Native American art can be seen along the trail and we will stop and take it all in. We will visit Goblin Valley State Park, a truly amazing scene right out of a movie. Finally we will ride into Moab, we will see amazing arches and slick red rock formations as we ride through this amazing landscape, finishing in Utah’s outdoor Mecca.
So pack a bag and let’s hit the trail! I can’t wait to introduce you to Utah by Motorcycle.
Cheers
